The Company is pleased to note that we are included by Forbes Asia in its fourth annual Asian Fab 50. Fab 50 is Forbes' selection of the best of Asia-Pacific's biggest listed companies, they look at long-term profitability, sales and earnings growth, stock price appreciation and projected earnings for every company in the region with revenues or market capitalization of at least $5 billion and select the top 50 on a comprehensive base.
The Company is pleased to note that the renowned credit rating institution Standard & Poor's has upgraded its long-term corporate credit rating from "A" to "A+" and ascribed with it a stable outlook, following the raise of long-term and short-term sovereign credit ratings on the People's Republic of China.
We are pleased to note that China Mobile Limited was yet again included in Financial Times' Global 500. The Company's ranking in the "FT Global 500" has jumped from 16th last year to 5th place this year. The companies are ranked by market capitalization. Market capitalization is calculated based on the share price as recorded on March 31 2008. FT had included all companies where the free float - the proportion of shares in market circulation - is at least 15 per cent.
We are pleased to note that the Company ranked number 1 in the China Section of FinanceAsia's Asia's Best Companies poll in the three categories: Best Corporate Governance, Best Managed Company and Most Committed to a Strong Dividend Policy.
We are pleased to note that China Mobile Limited ranked number 7, as compared to number 10 in the previous year, in BusinessWeek's "IT 100" for 2008. BusinessWeek sorts through the financial results of 30,500 publicly traded companies and rank the tech players on four criteria: shareholder return, return on equity, total revenues, and revenue growth. To qualify, companies had to have revenues of at least $300 million.
We are pleased to note that the China Mobile brand was included in the Millward Brown and Financial Times' "BRANDZTM Top 100" for the third consecutive year. Currently, it ranks the 5th, the brand value is $57,225 million US dollars, up by 39% from last year. BRANDZ™ Top 100 is jointly released by Millward Brown and Financial Times.
The Company is pleased to note that China Mobile Limited ranked number 78 as compared to number 89 in the previous year in the business magazine Forbes' "Global 2000-The World's 2000 Biggest Public Companies" for 2008. Global 2000 recognizes the world's biggest and most powerful public companies as measured by a composite ranking for sales, profits, assets and market value.
