China Mobile ranks Number One In BusinessWeek's 20 Best China Brands
The Company is pleased to note that on BusinessWeek's 20 Best China Brands annual report that was announced on 28th of August, China Mobile ranked number one with a brand value of US$35.51 billion, which indicates wider recognition of China Mobile's growing brand influence and increasing brand value.
BusinessWeek teamed up with global market consultancy Interbrand for its first annual study of the 20 best Chinese brands. Interbrand evaluates brands much the way securities analysts value assets: on the basis of how much they generate in profits and what they are likely to earn in the future. In this survey, Interbrand looked only at listed companies with solid financial data, and assessed such characteristics as brand loyalty, geographical reach, and forward-looking industry trends.
The Company is pleased to note that the renowned credit rating institution Standard & Poor's has upgraded its long-term corporate credit rating from "A-" to "A" and ascribed with it a stable outlook, following the raise of long-term and short-term sovereign credit ratings on the People's Republic of China.
The Company is pleased to note that the renowned credit agency Moody's Investors Service has changed the rating outlook on our A2 long-term issuer rating to positive from stable. The outlook change recognizes our leading position in the fast developing mobile communications market in China, strong financial position as well as the ability to manage internal and external growth in a manner such that both financial and operating profile of the Company has strengthened and increased our sustainability.
