Following the successful investment analyst trip early this year, CMHK has organized the second analyst tour to Beijing to meet with the Ministry of Information Industry of China ("MII"), China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mobile Communication Company Limited on 28 September 2001. At the meetings, MII officials and management of the mobile companies discussed with the analysts the latest development of mobile industry and market in China. The trip ended after a visit to a major sales center of Beijing Mobile in Beijing downtown.
On 9 July, 2001, China Mobile (Hong Kong) Limited and China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. jointly started a commercial trial service of GPRS in 25 cities in 16 provinces of mainland China (including 22 cities within CMHK's service areas), with a current capacity of 400,000 users. A total of 2,900 users have volunteered to participate in the trial service. It is anticipated that the current commercial trials will run for about 2 months.

Initial market response to new tariff package plans. Since 21 March, 2001, some of the Company's operating subsidiaries started launching tariff package plans. As of 20 April, the tariff package plan subscribers exceeded 90,000, among which nearly half of them chose the Rmb98/170min option.
Subscriber base reached 53.68mn in April. As of 20 April 2001, the Company's total number of subscribers reached 53.68mn, representing a net addition of 8.54mn for the first four months of this year.
