13 Earnings Per Share
(a) Basic earnings per share
The calculation of basic earnings per share for the year is based on the profit attributable to equity shareholders
of the Company of RMB129,274,000,000 (2011: RMB125,870,000,000) and the weighted average number of
20,090,824,422 shares (2011: 20,068,193,892 shares) in issue during the year, calculated as follows:
